Behavior Management and Discipline Policy
The philosophy of behavior management and discipline at Trinity is built upon the foundation of the Word of God, which is profitable for training in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16). The goal of this policy is not to set up consequences and punishments for students when they misbehave, but rather to establish positive expectations for student behavior. A second goal of this policy is not only to address the outward behavior of the students, but also to transform their hearts and minds so they understand how to interact with others in a way that pleases and glorifies God. The rules of the camp are reflected in these 3 principles:
- Obey God, Parents, and Teachers
- Love Your Fellow Students
- Respect Property of the Camp and of Others
DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS*
- First Offense: Offense noted and conversation with camp counselor.
- Second Offense: Camper will be restricted from some camp activities. A behavior notice will be sent home to the student’s parents to inform them of their child’s behavior at the camp.
- Third Offense: Further restrictions imposed which may include exclusion from field trip attendance. A behavior notice will be sent home to the student’s parents to inform them of their child’s behavior at the camp. Conversation with camp director.
- Fourth Offense: Camper may be removed from camp attendance.
*Any of these steps may be skipped at the discretion of the camp staff based upon the frequency and severity of the camper’s misbehavior.
IMPORTANT: Signatures of both parents are required (unless you are a single parent). The parent responsible for the financial obligation to Trinity Summer Camp must have his/her signature on this application.
My (our) signature(s) acknowledge(s) receipt, understanding and agreement with the Summer Programs Parent Agreement.
