Before the Thanksgiving holiday, we had our "Day of Giving" which was on Fall Fun Day. We asked all of our families to participate and we got some thoughtful and generous gifts. Perhaps the sweetest gift came from one of our youngest Knights, Leon Lazarian, who is in TK.
The Lazarian family puts a high value on helping their community and they had been waiting for the right opportunity to speak to Leon about gifting his savings. The Day of Giving at Trinity was just that opportunity because it is a charitable contribution to which Leon has a personal and special connection.
Leon's mom, Adrina, said, "We have spoken about what a blessing Trinity is to our family/community and it reminded us of Philippians 2:4 that not only should we take interest in our goods, but also take interest in others too."
Leon decided to gift the contents of his piggy bank because he understood that by giving to Trinity, he is making a contribution to help the school and in turn, help the community to which he belongs.
Earning pocket money by doing chores around the house and yard is one of the "grown-up tasks" that Leon loves to get involved in doing, according to his mom. "He and his brother, Levi, love cars and they originally wanted to start saving up chore money to someday be able to buy real cars."
Giving Tuesday is November 30th and your consideration of Trinity in your charitable giving is very much appreciated. Over half (53%) of our families have given so far. It's not too late to join in and experience the joy of giving. As the Giving Tuesday website states, "everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts."
