Trinity's California Scholarship Federation (CSF) chapter met on Monday for their final meeting of the semester. They honored their CSF senior life members with applause and a candy bar. They also collected the packages they had made for their Spring service project.
Each member was asked to create a "hospital snack pack" for health care workers at our local Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. Students packed over 100 bags with fruit cups, beef jerky, nuts, chips, water, fruit snacks/leathers, protein bars and packs of mints or lifesavers.
The hospital said the packs would be going to workers in the Critical care unit, Cardiac unit, Respiratory unit and Emergency room workers.
CSF members serve the community with a project each semester. This project shows appreciation to our local health care workers who have been uniquely challenged this past year in their response to the pandemic.
Past service projects have included serving at the Hope and a Future Run, and collecting donations for the military, homeless shelter, animal shelter and children's hospitals. They have also participated in the River Rally, which was a cleanup of the river beds in Santa Clarita.
