Shane Lintereur finished his senior year with the Trinity XC team having the best and smartest race of the season! It started at CIF prelims in Riverside, CA in early November where Shane took first place with a time of 16:10. One week later Shane ran the same course at CIF finals and took off an unheard of 28 seconds from his time placing 7th with a time of 15:42. This qualified Shane to represent Trinity at the State Championship 5k race in Fresno, Ca for the first time in the school’s history.
Shane ran a fantastic race last Saturday, November 24. He was in 10th place at mile one with a time of 4:50. Mile two brought him up to 7th place after passing three runners on killer hill. In mile three, he gained more ground and finished in 5th place with a time of 16:07. He ran a smart race; he came out fast and kept passing runners along the way. He knew he had to stay up front and catch the front group during mile three, which he was able to do and he held on til the end. Congratulations to Shane! He is going to take a few weeks off now and let his body rest as he waits for track season to begin.
