Getting Godly Guidance and Some Goodies

Fourth through sixth-grade boys and girls had a special morning with Mrs. Caddow and Mr. Richardson, which included sweet treats and kind words.

Mrs. Caddow met with the girls at what Trinity calls "Ladies Friendship Breakfast". There were blankets laid out in the courtyard and the girls sat and enjoyed cuties, water, and a gift bag with yummy treats in it. They also did some icebreaker games; the older girls led and served the younger girls, and Mrs. Caddow shared with them about what it takes to create a culture of kindness. This includes kind words, being inclusive particularly to new students, and avoiding gossip. She pointed out that gossip includes not only speaking unkind or untrue words about others but also listening to it.

Mr. Richardson met with the boys at the lunch tables and talked to them about being men, and what it takes to be godly men. This included taking responsibility for themselves, acting like gentlemen, being kind to each other, and an attitude of service to others. They finished their time with delicious donuts and bottled water.

Trinity is intentional about beginning the school year with an emphasis on spiritual formation and friendship with peers. Rhetoric School spent the week at Forest Home which is an annual favorite for our older grades. They enjoy house competitions and focusing their minds and hearts on their relationships with God. The Logic School had their Spiritual Emphasis Day last week, which included crazy team competitions, a talk from Mr. Fudge, and some directed small group interaction.

Now that our students have been given the time to focus on God and on being thoughtful and kind in their relationships with each other, they will get on with a lot of learning and growing in the year to come.
