What do cereal, Wifi and Sunscreen have in common? They were all tested as projects for the seventh grade science fair. The science fair is a five-month-long group assignment where students choose a project to research, plan and experiment/test as they learn and review the scientific method. Students must have topics approved by the instructor and are limited to a $50 budget for the entire assignment.
The purpose of the science fair is to learn by doing. This complements the learning done in the classroom that builds on the discoveries of previous scientists. The science fair is intended to give students some of the discovery experiences that brilliant scholars have had that changed the world. Their process was well documented and presented in an organized and articulate fashion.
The science fair was set up Thursday morning and visited by Grammar School students, as well as teachers and parents.
