Sophomores Volunteer at Boys and Girls Club
April 21, 2017 – Field trips in the Rhetoric School are often community service opportunities. The sophomore classes experienced working together to serve our community this week when they visited The Boys and Girls Club in both Santa Clarita locations.
Half of the sophomores went to the Canyon Country chapter while half went to the Newhall chapter. For both groups, the work consisted mostly of cleaning up and organizing. This “spring cleaning” involved sweeping and mopping the gym floor, clearing out a shed, cleaning it and organizing its contents, organizing a science classroom, unclogging the holes of an old air hockey table, and so much more.
Teamwork was needed to complete many of the chores and students did a great job with it. They also had a chance to play around a little, enjoying basketball in the gym and lunch in the park on a beautiful day.
