Mold, Mazes and Matter

April 28, 2017 – Yesterday the eighth grade class took over the Celebration Center to display their projects for the annual Science Fair. Students used their passions, imaginations and creativity to research and develop their subject and conduct their experiments.

The variety was impressive and included demonstrations on how food grows mold, taste vs smell tests, and how live ferrets memorize a maze. The ferrets were a new addition and exciting draw for our visitors of all ages.

Various teachers came and judged the projects. Criteria were scientific thought and creativity, thoroughness, technical skill, clarity and teamwork. Students joyfully shared their findings with passers-by. They were visited by grammar school classes, many faculty and staff members, and parents.
