May 15, 2018 – Last night was a celebration of all the Fine Arts at Trinity – musical, theatrical, digital and visual. Trinity Arts League (TAL) made sure everyone was well fed and enjoyed some time of fellowship. After Mrs. Caddow opened in prayer, it was time for the awards to be given.
All Fine Arts electives teachers selected students from their classes and gave awards for Most Improved, Director’s Award and Most Valuable Artist.
Electives classes are: Art, Theater, Film, Yearbook/Graphic Design, Orchestra, Guitar, Jazz Band and Handbells. All classes came on stage with their teachers and the teacher spoke a little bit about their class and then honored their students with awards.
Mrs. Hernacki, Orchestra teacher for the last seven years, is retiring after this year. She has influenced so many students over her time at Trinity, beginning with a class of eight and now there are 48 students in orchestra. She also teaches Jazz Band and Beginning Band. Current and former students, along with parents and others, spoke via video montage, thanking Mrs. Hernacki for her service to our students. Her students gave her flowers and a framed picture. She was very honored with a standing ovation she and expressed that she will miss Trinity very much.
Mrs. Jennifer Brown is not retiring, but after many years of teaching grammar school music, after school enrichment classes and Handbells, she is moving on from Trinity. Mrs. Margrave thanked her for her influence on many of our students and gave her flowers as a token of appreciation.
The Grand Finale was the awarding of the Scholar Artist of the Year, which went to Rachel Struble (L) and the Artist of the Year which went to Raul Meza.(R)
It was a beautiful evening and a wonderful celebration of the opportunities for Fine Arts at Trinity.
