March 29, 2018 – On the last day before Easter break, all students gathered in the courtyard to worship and honor God and to hear a message about love and service.
Mr. Brown, Katie Brown, Sam Alfsen, Andrew Dever and Spenser Rapier led everyone in a few traditional hymns.
Mr. Richardson, Grammar School Principal, taught from the book of John. On Maundy Thursday, the day of the Last Supper, there is a new commandment. Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34) Since He said, “…as I have loved you” the question is, “how has he loved us?” The answer is found by looking at what happened right before He said that; He had just finished washing the disciples’ feet. Mr. Richardson taught that love means service. Jesus was the King; He was God. He was above all, and yet He humbled Himself to the place of a lowly servant, washing feet.
Easter Chapel was a wonderful way to honor the most important events in the Christian church – Christ’s death and resurrection. The chapel service ended with the doxology.
