Feb. 27, 2017 – The Trinity Jazz Band was invited to play for the first time at the R.K. Downs/Fischer Jazz Festival at Golden Valley High School.
Some of the best junior high and high school jazz bands in Santa Clarita performed and the evening included a special performance by the Go Jazz Band featuring some of LA’s top jazz artists.
“It is such an honor to play at the R.K. Downs/Fischer Jazz Festival,” said Lisa Hernancki, Trinity Jazz Band Director. “Mr. Downs and Mr. Fischer were jazz icons as jazz educators, composers and arrangers and great jazz musicians, and this is why this is such an honor to perform at this jazz festival in our community.”
The band played Take The A Train by Billy Strayhorn, Samba Norte by Dean Sorenson and Jazz Police by Gordon Goodwin.
